Scarborough Lifeboat Station

School Visits

Last Updated 13 October 2006

At Scarborough we welcome visits by school parties. We can arrange for a talk to be given to the children and there is a  viewing platform so that the children can get a good view of the Lifeboat irrespective of their ages.

For Schools arranging educational visits within the Scarborough District Council area ( This includes Filey and Whitby) If the School writes to:

Louise Mann, Assistant Team Leader, Street Scene, Scarborough Borough Council, Cleansing Department, Dean Road, Scarborough YO12 7QS  Her telephone number (office hours ) is 01723 383120

At least one month  in advance of the visit, stating the days that their party will be in Scarborough, Filey or Whitby the council will issue a pass for the free use of the Superloos in those areas. For your "Convenience" below is a link to a page on the councils website which shows the location and opening times of all public conveniences in the Councils area.

There is no charge for your School to visit our Station. If you are able to make a donation this will be gratefully accepted.

For your information Lifeboats launch on average more than 23 times each day and each day rescue more than 23 people.

The RNLI needs to raise in excess of £330,000.00 each day to run the service and all of this money comes from donated income.
