Scarborough Lifeboat Visitor Centre

Here in Scarborough we have a purpose built disabled friendly Visitor Centre. It is open daily from 10.00 to 16.00 hours. It is on two levels access to the upper level is by either stairs or by lift..On the upper level you have access to the viewing gallery where our Shannon class lifeboat "Frederick William Plaxton is on display. There are also leaflets available giving information on the Shannon Lifeboat and our inshore D class lifeboat "John Wesley Hillard III.

Around the centre there are information panels and a timeline commencing in 1801 when our station opened.

We have volunteers who come into the visitor centre to talk to our visitors from time to time but should you have a group who wish to visit wether it is an adult group, youth group, or school group these need to be pre-booked so please click HERE to make your enquiry.
